ABOUT
History
Built in 1922 and gifted to the people of Newby and Scalby. For over a century, it hosted exercise classes, choirs, craft fairs, community groups and NHS Blood Donation sessions.
The hall became a registered charity in 1964, and in 2011 ownership transferred from Scarborough Borough Council to the Newby and Scalby Community Hall Trust, returning it to local hands. Now, as the hall building enters a new chapter, the Trust itself lives on with a renewed purpose: putting its resources directly to work for the community it has always served.
